Ferrule Loop Insert

Dayton Superior Tilt-Up Handbook

The Dayton Superior F64 Ferrule Loop Insert is manufactured by welding a wire loop to a steel ferrule which has been machined from bar stock.

One end of the ferrule is closed, while the other end is drilled and tapped to accept an NC threaded bolt. Typically, this insert is used to attach a precast wall panel to a building frame, as well as provide attachment of other structural elements that may be required.

Description

Tilt-up is a job-site form of precast concrete construction. It involves prefabricating concrete wall sections, then lifting or tilting them up. Once they are in position, the panels are temporarily braced until they are tied into the roof and floor system. It is a fast, simple, and economical method of construction, which most recently been adapted successfully to multi-story structures.

Dayton Superior has been instrumental in developing and manufacturing the hardware necessary in the most critical steps for this method of construction — that of lifting the wall panel and placing it without damage. Our product development team continues to strive to provide a complete package for economical and safe construction of tilt-up buildings.
