Flared Coil Loop Insert

Dayton Superior Tilt-Up Handbook

The load carrying capacity of any cast-in-place concrete insert is largely dependent upon the ability of the insert to draw upon the tensile strength of the mass of concrete within which it is embedded.

The B18 Single Flared Coil Loop Insert makes effective use of this principle by increasing the depth and width of concrete embedment. B18 inserts are available with an optional B3 Screw-on Coil for use with the B30 Screw-on Plastic Cone which acts to set the insert back from the face of the concrete.

Minimum spacing between inserts is twice the corner distance.

Description

Tilt-up is a job-site form of precast concrete construction. It involves prefabricating concrete wall sections, then lifting or tilting them up. Once they are in position, the panels are temporarily braced until they are tied into the roof and floor system. It is a fast, simple, and economical method of construction, which most recently been adapted successfully to multi-story structures.

Dayton Superior has been instrumental in developing and manufacturing the hardware necessary in the most critical steps for this method of construction — that of lifting the wall panel and placing it without damage. Our product development team continues to strive to provide a complete package for economical and safe construction of tilt-up buildings.
